Bamboo and rattan have been associated with discipline for centuries. This rattan beater is wonderful for building impact play whether you want it light or a little more intense. With a secure and flexible handle, and the thin springy reeds doing the work, this implement offers excellent coverage and sensation! This toy is recommended for light, stinging impact and sensation play. Heavy impact is not recommended. Please note that these are not indestructible so play with care. All rattan is guaranteed to be crooked - not straight. Some poles are nearly straight.
All rattan is guaranteed to be a different color from the last time you bought it and from other rattan in stock.
All rattan is guaranteed to taper and the amount of taper will vary from pole to pole.
All rattan is guaranteed to split without proper care. We do not ship split poles, but it may occur over time. For ideas on how to reduce splitting, please see our suggested rattan care below.
Rattan Care:
Rattan is a natural reed, not a hard or soft wood. It will require regular soaking to maintain its flexibility. To keep flexible and for toy longevity, it is suggested that you soak the canes in water for 30 minutes once a month for drier climates and less often for moister climates. All of our handles will withstand a water soaking. NOTE: Since Rattan is a reed, it may also change shape when it is soaked or when it is in a high humidity environment. This changing of shape is normal and will not harm the toy's effectiveness in any way.
